Germ Attak-Cruxshadow (Loud punk records 2010)

My new favorite band.I really liked the Ouroboros lp and their 7's,but this is a different class on its own.The Germ Attak hit the peak with this lp,incredible UK82 influenced punk, basic, but with more power and hooks than ever before.Gone is the Finnish hardcore influence, this is more in the Partisans/GBH style.Forget posers like Casualties and check out these Canadians, they rule.

Life Sentence-s/t lp (Walkthrufyre 1986)

There is no better thing in life than good hardcore.Hardcore rules ok?This is one of my favorite records.Even dumbasses like James Hetfield had a Life Sentence sticker in their guitar.Life Sentence was a Chigaco band that played fast and furious hardcore punk, with UNBELIEVABLE vocals. This will make you pogo around your room.Hardcore for punks, not for jocks.

Massgrav / Diskonto - A Blaze In The Northern Sky (Sound Pollution 2006)

Insane. One of the best split lps ever.Unbelievable fast and brutal stuff by Diskonto,D beat played in 45rpm,even more fast and noisy in the tradition of Mob 47 for Massgrav. This is the record that should be played at kids parties. All hail the vicious hardcore carnivores.

Overkill-Triumph of the will (SST 1985)

Well, this is certainly not the speed metal act (crap) with the same name. The L.A Overkill were an early 80s hardcore band, that assimilated some hard rock sounds and pre dated bands like Bl'ast and Annihilation Time.
Brutal but not fast,hard as a rock,rocking hardcore.On SST.

7 Seconds-The Crew (BYO 1984)

Not much to say about this timeless  classic of American Hardcore. If you are into that sound, you already have it.If you are new to this kind of stuff, this is one of the records that defined melodic hardcore for years to come and it is mandatory to have it,go buy it right away!AWESOME.

The Stupids-Peruvian Vacation (COR Records 1986)

Hailing from Ipswich,Uk,The Stupids were one of the bands that in a really dull era for UK (uk82 bands gone stale and crappy oi!) they endorsed the U.S hardcore sound, and gave it the speed and ferocity of UK.
This is their first and most hardcore record ever.Influenced mainly by Boston hardcore bands, but with added humor,Stupids stood out of the crowd of the then great UK bands like Bad Beach,Bad Dress Sense,HDQ,Heresy etc etc.
They reformed 2 years ago, releasing on Boss Tuneage one 7" and one lp that are most in their later way,Government Issue meets Snfu.
Cheers!

Colera-Pela paz em todo mundo (Ataque Frontal Records 1986)

This is one of the many classic stuff that Brazil had to offer in the 80s (till now it still offers many good stuff though).Along with Olho Seco,Ratos De Porao,Lixomania, the Colera were one of the first (if not the first) purveyors of hardcore punk in Brazil.
More melodic that their contemporaries,Colera still exist and play live performances. This lp is one of their greatest, total addictive melodies along with hardcore fury.

Mob 47-s/t e.p. (Self-released 1984)

Imagine that:1984,and a band from Sweden playing insanely fast and vicious hardcore punk, like a mix of Discharge with early Gang Green and D.R.I.Right,you got it.All time classic.

Dr Know-This island earth (Death Records 1986)

Second lp by the Oxnard stalwart, more metal influence, but still great.Cover of D.O.A's "Uknown" thrown in for good measure.Very good.

Antidote-Thou shalt not kill (Antidote Records 1983)

Urban Waste,The Mob,Kraut,The Abused, were along the Antidote some of the best hardcore bands that came form the first wave hardcore of N.Y.
No macho bullshit here,no thug mentality,no stupid breakdowns, just real and hard as nail hardcore punk.Because first and foremost, hardcore is punk.

Screeching Weasel - Boogadaboogadaboogada! (Roadkill 1988)

Screeching Weasel is a band that you either love or hate.I myself love them, and i believe that they have left us unbelievable classics of jerky punk and hardcore. This lp,is from the more hardcore era of the band,it is their second, and though it has some more punk rock songs, most songs are way into hardcore.Kind of Adrenalin o.d going sloppier. But equally as great!

The Offenders-Endless Struggle (Rabid Cat 1985)

One of the most underestimated classics of American Hardcore.Hailing from Texas,The Offenders were one of the most prolific early 80s bands, this is their last lp and is one of the greatest hardcore records ever.Every song is a winner, and the slightly metallic production reminds me of a more sun baked version of Uniform Choice.Fans of early D.R.I need to hear this, not only for the fact that Mickey Offender (R.I.P) plays in half of the "Dealing with it " lp,but because it is similar style to that lp.
Raging.

Dr. Know - Plug-In Jesus (Mystic 1984)

What can i say about this band, this record?Plainly raging hardcore punk with  bites of guitar wanking(not so many to make you puke),this is an ultra classic record by a much underrated band.Fast, angry, with a vocalist that spits fire,a true monument of the Oxnard scene. If you love classic american hardcore of the mid 80s just go for it,or if you heard bands like RKL,Ill Repute,Stalag 13,this will be another lucky number...
I have read in the latest Artcore issue, that Doug Moody, the 70teen year old owner of Mystic records is alive and well and keeps the Mystic alive with many reprints.Fuck me if this isn't THE most punk rock thing i have ever heard.Cheers to you Doug.

Urban Waste-s/t e.p (1982 Mob Style Records)

N.Y's hardest ever 7".Better than United Blood,Cause for Alarm,Upset the system and equally great with Thou shalt not kill.Raw as hell, buzzsaw guitar, frantic rhythm, this 7" takes us back to the time and era when N.Y hardcore was first and foremost punk, without the gang mentality, the boring breakdowns and the streetware crap.
More raw than you ll ever be.Re released as an lp on Mad at the world records,i think in 2002.

Heresy-20 reasons to end it all (2006 Boss Tuneage records)

This is a compilation of the "Whose Generation" 7",BBC Sessions,"13 Rocking Anthems","live at leeds" 7" and some other live songs. You should already know Heresy. If not, this was one of the best bands of the Britcore movement that took place in UK in the mid 80s.They carried andstill carry the hardcore torch through numerous bands (Geriatric Unit,Violent Arrest,Cant Decide) with quality.
Taking their cues from Boston Hardcore (SSD,DYS,Siege) and mixing it with the early UK82 sound, they managed to release some of the best hardcore records ever from UK.

Anti System-No laughing matter (1984 Reconciliation Records)

This ultra heavy anarcho punk band from UK stood highly influential for bands like Concrete Sox,Napalm Death,Heresy and also many anarcho punk bands of the 90s (Greek Nautia too).Fast and heavy, with political lyrics, this lp shreds through your skin. From the mighty Bradford with love.

Anti You-Two bit schemes and cold war dreams (2010 Six Weeks)

Stand fast, stand proud armaggedon hardcore punk the Italian way.Very much in the vein of old Italian hardcore like Indigesti, these fuckers play fast music also influenced by What Happens Next?,DS 13.They have made a great reputation through their frantic live shows, really inique band.

Inferno-Hibakusha (1986 Rise & Fall Productions)

Germany's Inferno were some of the most hard and raw acts of their time. This is their second lp in which the bandis just slightly progressed the ultra raw hardcore punk of their first (and classic) "Tod und Wahnsinnn".The band released a triple lp/cd with all their output through their years of existence, which is called "Pioneering Work" on 2007 and it is on Weird System records.

Disorder-Perdition (1982 Disorder Records)

They were more crazed than Discharge, more catchy than Partisans, more brutal than Varukers, just as dark as Amebix. The first lp release of Disorder (after 2 7's and some compilation tracks) was just freaking great.Dark, haunting, fast and furious stuff, with alienated and depressing lyrics.Forget clowns like Exploited, this is one fine gem of UK82.
Life's a lung and i'm the cancer,still many questions,never an answer.

Spermbirds-Something to prove ( We Bite records 1986)

One of the greatest European acts ever, the Spermbirds are from Germany (except from Lee Hollis who is American) and are still going strong. This is their first classic record that has been re issued many times (the later is on Boss Tuneage).Classic European Hardcore punk that draws its influences from Minor Threat,Angry Samoans,Agent Orange.I rate so high this record,in my opinion it is better than all of Minor Threat's output (i know, sacrilege, but who gives a fuck).
